Mayor Hackson extends short-term medical leave

Mayor Hackson has advised that she is extending her short-term medical leave through the month of February. This leave follows the three-month medical leave that commenced on November 2, 2023.

Councillor Brian Johns will continue to serve as the Acting Mayor and as Council’s representative at Regional Council at this time.

Town Facilities Temporary Warming Centres

If you are in need of a warm place to visit, the following Town facilities can be used as temporary warming centres during regular business hours:

  • Civic Centre (19000 Leslie Street)
  • East Gwillimbury Sports Complex (1914B Mount Albert Road)
  • Ross Family Complex and Mount Albert Library branch (19300 Centre Street)
  • Holland Landing Community Centre and Holland Landing  Library branch (19513 Yonge Street)
