The Town of East Gwillimbury is a designated growth Municipality in Northern York Region, with a population expected to grow to 86,500 by 2031. Employment and job growth targets are based on an objective of 1 job for every 2 residents.

EG continues to develop strategic initiatives that promote additional new industrial and employment growth in the municipality in order to provide local job opportunities for East Gwillimbury’s highly skilled workforce and to decrease the tax burden on our residents by adding to the Town’s non-residential assessment. This economic growth will contribute to overall sustainability and the quality of life for the residents of our communities.
